Rippo (“the Service”, “we”) is a social app built around completing daily tasks and cheering on friends. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have. By using the Service you agree to this policy. The Service is only available to users aged 18 or older.

1. Data We Collect

• Account information: the email address obtained via Google or Apple sign-in (Apple sign-in lets you hide your real email), plus the nickname and avatar photo you set.
• Basic personal details: date of birth (for age verification and age display), gender, and city/county of residence. City/county is optional and may be derived from device location, but we only store the county name — never precise coordinates.
• Content you create: task photos, chat messages, feed posts, comments and reports.
• Device & usage data: push notification tokens and app usage events (collected via Google Firebase Analytics to improve the product).

2. How We Use Data

• Account sign-in and cross-device account recovery.
• Core features: task submission and review, friends and Battles, chat, the water cup and collections.
• Personalising the Explore feed (e.g. content from users of a similar age or the same county may appear more often).
• Sending push notifications relevant to you (can be turned off in system settings at any time).
• Community safety: handling reports and preventing abuse.
• Anonymised, aggregated analytics to improve the product.

3. What Other Users Can See

• Public: nickname, avatar, water cup (water level and sticker layout).
• Friends: your task content and feed activity.
• Limited display: gender and age are shown only in specific features to specific people (e.g. the member page of a Battle you are both in); your date of birth itself is never public; your county is never displayed on Explore content.

4. Sharing of Task Content

By joining or creating a friend Battle, you agree that the task content you submit in that Battle (including photos and text) may be made into a “share card” by other participants of the same friend Battle and shared to third-party platforms (e.g. Instagram). Share cards display the author’s nickname.

This consent is limited to participants of the same friend Battle. Content in social Battles (matched with strangers) is not shared by this feature. Your content is not accessible to, or shareable by, users outside a Battle you took part in, without your further consent.

Your control: You may hide any task from your “Me” page at any time. Hidden tasks never appear on any share card and cannot be accessed by others, including your Battle teammates. You may also mark any completed task as “public to the Explore wall,” after which it appears on the Explore wall for all Rippo users; this is a per-task choice and can be turned off at any time.

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following providers, which process data only on our instructions:

• Google Firebase (authentication, database, file storage, push notifications, analytics) — data is primarily stored in Asian data centres.
• Vercel (web hosting).
• Google / Apple sign-in (identity verification).

We never sell your personal data, show no third-party ads, and do not use your data for cross-app or cross-site tracking.

6. Retention & Deletion

• Data is kept for as long as your account exists.
• You can delete your account at any time in-app via Settings → Account → Delete Account: your profile and task content (including anything made public on the Explore wall) will be deleted and cannot be recovered.
• Chat messages you sent to other users may remain in their conversations.
• Records required by law or needed to resolve disputes may be retained for the necessary period.

7. Security

All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and database access is restricted by security rules. No online service can guarantee absolute security; in the event of a significant data incident we will notify you as required by law.

8. Your Rights

Under Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act you may: request access to or a copy of your data, request correction, request that we stop collecting, processing or using it, and request deletion. Contact us below, or act directly in-app (edit your details, delete your account).

9. Minors

The Service is restricted to users aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18; if we discover such a case we will delete the account and its data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time; significant changes will be announced in-app. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
